Projections (In / Out) considers my anxieties around parenting and the dialogic nature of childhood development. The text is derived from a conversation between my son and I as I try to understand why he was afraid at night. The video recreates my perception of his fear of falling in and out of his bed. As the conversation switches between perceived experience and playing pretend, the piece raises questions about how we learn through inter-relational dialogue, imagination, and play.
