The video for Vigil was
recorded from a television set as seen through the frame of a neighbor’s window
over the period of a month. The audio was recorded through a separate series of
interviews with the artist’s grandmother. Edited together, Vigil investigates the limitations of our ability to understand one another, the
discomfort of forgetting, and the importance of witnessing.
